Leading Through Service and Philanthropy
The Museum of New Mexico Foundation is deeply grateful for the generosity and leadership of Keith and Barbara Anderson. Keith, a financial advisor and valued member of the Foundation Advisory Trustee group, leads by example-demonstrating how thoughtful, tax-wise planning can support both family and charitable priorities.
"Four generations of the Lenssen-Anderson family illustrate the importance of estate planning," says Keith. "My own family has supported charitable causes for generations, and I recommend including them in your estate plans as a meaningful way to carry your values forward."
In his professional life, Keith helps clients make smart financial decisions that reflect their values. He brings that same care and intention to his own giving. In addition to their personal commitment, the Foundation benefits from Keith's time, insight, and guidance as an Advisory Trustee. His service helps strengthen the organization and ensures it remains well positioned for the future.
The Importance of Estate Planning
Keith encourages others to leave clear, written instructions so beneficiaries can easily carry out their wishes. The Andersons' estate plan is designed to be simple, complete, and thoughtful. They have prepared and delivered clear detailed instructions to their beneficiaries.
Keith and Barbara have graciously named the Museum of New Mexico Foundation as a beneficiary of their Charitable Remainder Unitrust.
"Our Charitable Remainder Trust is the one repository of our gifts to charities. It will be simple to make disbursements. In life and after, we have endeavored to include charities that support our priorities. For tax purposes, we chose to invest it in an annuity. Our Charitable Gift Annuity will continue after our deaths and be managed by our beneficiaries."
The Foundation is honored by the Andersons' confidence and commitment. Through both their personal planning and Keith's dedicated volunteer leadership, they are helping ensure that the arts, culture, and history of New Mexico will continue to inspire generations to come.
