A Collector's Vision for the Future

Foundation Trustee and Circles member Caroline Burnett has long demonstrated her commitment to the arts through thoughtful, consistent support. Each year, she makes charitable gifts from her IRA to benefit both the Foundation and the New Mexico Museum of Art-an approach that allows her to give in a tax-efficient way while sustaining the programs she values most.

Looking ahead, Caroline has also named the Foundation and the Museum as beneficiaries of her IRA, ensuring that her generosity will continue to make an impact for generations to come. Her future gift reflects the two causes closest to her heart. Half will support her passion for photography-funding restoration of existing works and the acquisition of new pieces-while the other half will help expand youth education programs, introducing young people to the transformative power of art.

"Photography is an integral part of my life. I began collecting in the early 1990s with my late husband, Bill, and have continued to expand my collection to include themes ranging from the beauty of nature to the spiritual aspects of life. A legacy gift, including the bequest of my photography collection, is my way of ensuring that others can share in the joy and inspiration I've found in Santa Fe."

Through her annual giving and her planned legacy, Caroline is helping the Museum care for its collections, inspire young learners, and keep the arts accessible to all. Her story is a powerful reminder that a planned gift-of any size-can preserve what you love and share it with future generations.
