A Collection, A Commitment, A Lasting Endowment

A Collection, A Commitment, A Lasting Endowment
For Carol and Robert Warren, supporting the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture was not just an interest-it was a lifelong commitment rooted in respect, curiosity, and deep appreciation for Native art and culture. Longtime collectors and supporters of the museum, the Warrens chose to make that commitment permanent by establishing an endowment for MIAC in their will. Their fund was created both for the museum's general use and for the ongoing care of the Warren art collection, which they had generously donated to MIAC over the last decade.
Carol dedicated 26 years of her life to volunteering at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture in Santa Fe, including 17 years working in collection development. Through thousands of hours of service, she built close connections with the museum's staff, artists, and visitors, and gained a deeper understanding of the stories, traditions, and communities represented in the collections. Her passion for Indigenous art and culture became her legacy, culminating in the establishment of the Carol Warren Collection. This personal collection of pottery, paintings, sculptures, and jewelry stands as a testament to Carol's lifelong commitment to preserving and celebrating Native American heritage.
An Endowment Secures the Future
By establishing an endowment, the Warrens ensured that their generosity continues to support the museum far into the future. Endowments provide a reliable, long-term source of funding, allowing museums to care for collections, develop exhibitions, and offer educational programs regardless of economic fluctuations. This kind of lasting support helps protect cultural treasures and ensures that future generations can learn from and be inspired by them.
The Warrens' story shows how a thoughtful estate gift can honor a lifetime of passion while providing lasting strength to the institutions that matter most.
